On this tour, you can enjoy the powder snow of Hokkaido with a travel plan that includes transportation to and from the ski resorts. The city of Sapporo is located in the middle of Hokkaido and is the heart of Hokkaido’s government, economy and culture. One of the most distinct characteristics of Sapporo City is that as many as 9 ski resorts can be accessed from the urban area by car, all within an hour and a half drive. You can enjoy skiing and snowboarding even without having to stay overnight at ski resorts. The snow quality is fluffy and described as powder snow with fresh snow all the time as it snows almost every day. Although most courses are designed with compacted snow, you can also find some courses that are untouched with natural powder snow. It’s safe to say that the ski resorts in Sapporo City can be enjoyed by all levels from beginners to advanced. Some people find themselves staying longer than expected as everything you need is easily accessible, including food, daily necessities and rental gear.

(What season is this tour held in?)
This tour is held anytime from the middle of December through April but is especially recommended from January through the beginning of March. During this time, it snows almost every day and the fresh powder snow creates the most suitable conditions to enjoy skiing and snowboarding. Around the beginning of February, there may be some congestion as snow festivals are held in Sapporo as well as other areas in Hokkaido. If you want to enjoy a ski resort that’s not crowded, we recommend going outside of this time.

Visitors participating in this tour are required to have overseas travel insurance. Please come equipped with a valid overseas travel insurance plan. Please acquire a traveler’s insurance plan that would cover you in the case of a trip cancelation, missing goods or an unforeseen circumstance during the trip.

DAY1
On the first day, you will meet at New Chitose Airport between 12:30 to 1:00. (Please make ticket arrangements on your own) You will then take a taxi from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo City. Your driver may not be able to speak much English, but please rest assured as we will be sure to inform the driver about your destination, number of people and your names. It generally takes about an hour to get into Sapporo City. However, there are cases when it takes longer due to blizzards, traffic and sometimes street closures. When it comes to snow-covered roads, your driver is a professional so no need to worry. You will surely have a nice comfortable ride all the way to your hotel. After arriving at your hotel in Sapporo City, please check in and relax at your hotel until dinner time. We can also make arrangements for you to eat at a restaurant outside of the hotel if you wish. (In that case, please let us know before we finalize the itinerary)
DAY2
Spend a full day skiing or snowboarding and enjoying Hokkaido’s superior quality powder snow. Your driver will meet you at your hotel to pick you up around 8:00 in the morning. We will give you some information on recommended ski resorts in advance. The condition of the ski resorts may differ depending on the weather conditions, so we will be sure to monitor the weather forecast until the day before so that we can recommend the most suitable place for that day. If necessary, we can also make arrangements for ski or snowboard gear rentals, as well as an instructor if you wish. We can also arrange for an English-speaking instructor. Please arrange lunch on your own at the ski resort. After enjoying an evening session on the ski slopes, your driver will come to pick you up at 5:00. Please wait for the taxi at the same place you got off the taxi that morning. Enjoy relaxing at your hotel after getting back from the ski resort.
DAY3
This is the last day to enjoy skiing or snowboarding. We will come pick you up at 8:00. On this day, you can enjoy the ski resort until 1:00 and after that we will make our way to New Chitose Airport. Please let us know your return flight time in advance.
