The Kuromatsunai Tourist Association helps visitors to enjoy everything Kuromatsunai has to offer.
Kuromatsunai has the northernmost beech forest in Japan—beech trees are normally found in temperate zones and almost none can be found further north than Kuromatsunai. This forest is very precious to us. We have successfully prevented excessive logging on numerous occasions, and our community has been involved in building a tourism model based on respect and appreciation for this natural resource.
