
This program offers a guided tour of a short, easily accessible section of the "Hokkaido East Trail," which opened in eastern Hokkaido in October 2024.
East Hokkaido Trail Nature Walk: Easy Half-Day Short Course
- The distance from the Kawayu Visitor Center to Mt. Iozan is about 2.5 km, and the trail is an easy walking path with almost no elevation change, taking about an hour one-way.
- Alpine plants that can withstand the volcanic gases and acidic soil from Mt. Iozan have developed a unique ecosystem. You can enjoy a variety of vegetation within this short 2.5 km distance.
- A guide who knows this area well will lead you on this tour.

- The times listed are examples. Please consult with us when booking to arrange times that suit your convenience.
- 10:00 AM: Meet at Kawayu Visitor Center
- Overview explanation and restroom use inside the facility
- Walking on the Tsutsujigahara Nature Trail
- 11:30 AM: After the nature trail, visit Mt. Iozan.
- 12:00 PM: Stop by Iozan MOKMOK Base
- (If you come by car, we will provide transportation to the Kawayu Visitor Center.)

- In principle, the tour will be conducted even in light rain or snow.
- In case of heavy rain, thunder, wind, or high waves due to a snowstorm, we will contact you as soon as possible if it becomes difficult to hold the tour.
- Also, those who are pregnant or under the influence of alcohol cannot participate.

For cancellations made by the customer, the following cancellation fees will apply:
- 8 days prior: Free of charge
- 7 to 2 days prior: 30% of the total cost
- 1 day prior: 50% of the total cost
- On the day: 100% of the total cost
