Birdwatching Tour
Lake Tofutsu is a bird-watcher’s paradise
Available for 1 to 5 participants, we keep the numbers small to ensure you catch some of the rare birds that live in the Lake Tofutsu area.
We can also accommodate particular requests, such as those seeking to see particularly cute birds or beautiful flowers and make sure you see the best of every season.
- Key Points
-
Birdwatchers will find something to enjoy in every season. Spring marks the arrival of sandpipers, plovers and other birds, while in summer, you can take in species that can be seen nowhere else in Hokkaido. Flocks of white-fronted geese, bean geese and other water fowl fill the sky in the fall, and in winter, birds of prey such as Steller’s sea eagles and white-tailed eagles take wing.
Koshimizu Town, the location of Lake Tofutsu, is notable because it features the seas, forests and marshlands, bringing the nature of the Okhotsk area into one tightly packed area.
